My birth

Hi,
This is my first blog and I dont have a clue what to write. Actually I never understood the concept of a blog. People tell me to write about everyday life or express your views about something, but I thought I would write something about myself, something about me as an individual, something that makes me different from all the other people I know. So here are a few facts I know about my life.
February 14th, 1982 I was born on this auspicious day. For the first 20 years of my life I did not know some facts related to my birth. It was only three years back that I came to know of it and I believe that makes me a person that must have some purpose in life. In the summer of 1981 my mother was diagnosed pregnant with a second child, that was me, the other being my elder sister who is currently happily married living in California. But my parents wanted to keep a little more age difference between the two kids so they decided to go for an abortion. Consequently my mother underwent an abortion in the summer of 1981 about nine months prior to the actual date of birth. And so in this procedure she got placed a Copper-T (a wire made of copper in the shape of T) inside her to prevent pregnancy. But months later she started feeling pregnant again. Doctors checked her up and confirmed that she was pregnant and that the previous abortion was not succesful. So now I was about two and a half or three months old in my mother's womb with that copper-T which was very lethal to my growth. Because even if that wire had touched me at any time during the nine-months or during delivery anything could have happened to me. Doctors suggested that it would be better if she underwent another abortion before three months of pregnancy are over, and that the probability of delivering a healthy baby will diminish as the baby grows in size because of the copper-T wire. Fortunately, in the whole incident there was no danger to my mother's health. So it was decided that my mother should have a second abortion. She went into the operation room, and my father had to come back home to pick up my grandmother to the hospital. In the mean time the doctor was supposed to start the operation. When my father came back home something strange happened ( I am not making this up !!). Back home he met a person who was a clerk by occupation and he used to tell people about their immediate future. (I am sure you must have met some people like that in your life. I have met dozens of people like that in 20 years and not once they have predicted something useful. I am not sayimg that this guy was a genious or anything like that but whatever he said when he met my father in that one minute conversation came true). The strange part was that visited the family after five or six years and confronted my dad when he came back to pick up my grandmother. He asked my father that he was looking worried, what is going on? My father explained the situation very briefly and he told him that three things
1. no one can stop this boy to come on this planet
2. he would earn fame
3. he would take care of his parents
(Again I am not making this up :))
Anyways after listening to him, my father left with my grandmother for the hospital. It is about half an hour drive from our home to that hospital and in that hour my father suddenly started feeling that abortion was a wrong decision, but he thought he was too late to stop it. When he reached the hospital he was surprised to find out that the doctor had not started the operation. why? i dont know........probably some things came up which she had to finish. Then he decided not to undergo the abortion and take the risk with the baby. So they took the risk and I was delivered perfectly healthy on 14th Feb, 1982. After the birth when the doctors detached the placenta they found that the copper-T wire was tucked in a corner and did not move during nine months of pregnancy. How could this have happened? This gave the doctors a new field of research to explore. Till date that placenta is kept at Medical College, Allahabad and it is shown as an example to the medical students.
Now after 23 years I want to go back and meet all the doctors who were involved in this process. I will do so the next time I go back to India.
